Acne Remedies For Oily Skin


Are you having difficulty finding the right acne remedy for your skin type? This is the first in a series of posts that will talk about how different natural acne remedy are suited for different skin types. Today’s post will focus on acne remedy for people with dry skins.

Causes

Many people think that only oily skins are prone to acne but it is highly that dry skin can also have acne problems. This happens most commonly during winter when the air is much drier than usual due to the drop in humidity and temperature. Combined with indoor heating and environment, the skin becomes even more dry and irritated. The skin begins itching and flaking around the mouth, nose, shoulders and buttocks. In more severe cases there is cracking of the skin leaving it vulnerable to bacteria and increase of acne. A daily routine of adding moisture to the skin will help offset this problem .

People with acne and dry skin faces a tricky situation as the remedies for acne and dry skin tend to have opposing effects. This is because products that are formulated for dry skin have oils and moisturizers that can cause more acne problems. On the other hand, products that aimed to dry up acne may cause the user’ skin to be dry. For this reason, it is important to use only products that are formulated for both dry skins and acne.

Remedies

For people with acne and dry skin, sticking to a daily regime is absolutely critical. The following are suggested steps that a person with acne and dry skin should consider:

* Cleanser – When washing your face, it is important to use a balancing facial wash that will gently wash your skin without drying it out. Skin that is acne prone has to be cleansed more often than other types of skin. This means that when choosing choosing your cleanser, you need to choose something that can be used multiple times daily.

* Toner – When it comes to toners, be extra careful of your selection. This is because many toners that are made for acne prone skin are very drying. Hence, you want to avoid the situtation of making your dry skin problem more serious than it is. Please ensure that the toner you use is made for acne prone as well as dry skin.

* Lotion – Do use daily lotion frequently to provide that much needed moisture to your dry skin. Choose those that will not only moisturize dry skin but helps to absorb skin oils that cause acne as well. These lotions typically will include ingredients such as glycerin, mineral oil, linoleic acid or ceramides. For best results apply the moisturizer within five minutes of stepping out of the shower or bath to avoid further drying of the skin.

* Intense treatments – In areas which are more difficult, you can spot treat your skin. Use acne treatments only on areas that are continuously affected by acne. You can also moisturize especially dry areas with a nightly intense moisturizer applied only to your dry skin.

Reduce the following

* Baths and showers in high temperature remove moisture from the skin and should be avoided.

* Sun – Try to keep out of the sun to avoid the drying of your skin. On the other hand, the ultra violet rays do help to dry the acne. The workaround is to go for indoor tanning sessions for about 7 minutes per session.

* Cleansing pads – many cleansing pads formulated for acne riddled skin are extremely harsh and not intended for use on dry skin. People with oily skin can use these pads several times a day, but dry skin sufferers should not use them at all.

Acne remedy for dry skin is more difficult, but not impossible. As long as you keep to the tips given above, and see an appropriate doctor for serious cases, you can find the right Acne remedy.
